KANSAS CITY, KAN. ---- Sporting Kansas City and the Houston Dynamo take the pitch for the fourth time this year on Wednesday at BBVA Compass Stadium. The match will kick off at 7:30 p.m. CT with pregame coverage available on KMCI-TV's 38 the Spot and SKCTV across the Midwest beginning at 7 p.m. CT.
Sporting KC is unbeaten against the Dynamo in 2015 including a 3-1 home win in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals. Benny Feilhaber, Dom Dwyer and Krisztian Nemeth each tallied second half goals in the victory after Houston's Luis Garrido was ejected in the 30th minute. Garrido will miss Wednesday's match due to yellow card accumulation.
The regular season series is level as Sporting KC and the Dynamo have played 180 minutes of soccer yielding a 4-4 draw on April 25 at BBVA Compass Stadium followed by a 1-1 stalemate on August 1 at Sporting Park. Sporting KC and the Dynamo have played 19 times since 2011 including meetings in the 2011, 2012 and 2013 MLS Cup Playoffs.
Sporting KC are coming off a 3-1 victory over FC Dallas on Friday to end a five-game winless streak dating back to August 19. The result improved Sporting KC's home record to 13-1-4 in all competitions at Sporting Park in 2015.
The lone loss came against San Jose on August 19 in a stretch of seven games during the month of August. Feilhaber scored a brace against FC Dallas and earned MLS Player of the Week honors for his two-goal performance while Dwyer clinched the victory for the home side with his 83rd minute MLS Goal of the Week nominee.
The Dynamo are led by World Cup veteran and St. Louis native Brad Davis (eight assists, three goals) and fifth year professional Will Bruin (10 goals, two assists).
Davis tallied assists in two of Houston's three meetings with Sporting KC in 2015 while Bruin scored a goal against Sporting KC in two of the three previous matches this year.
