KANSAS CITY, KAN. ---- Unified Government County Administrator Doug Bach has announced the appointment of Dr. Larry Franken, PhD., as the new Director of the Wyandotte County Public Health Department.
He has been an employee of the department since 2008 serving in the role of Manager of Infectious Disease/Epidemiology. Franken earned his PhD in Public Health/Epidemiology from Walden University and has also led the departments Quality Improvement Program.
The position of Director was previously held by Joe Connor. He vacated the position following his appointment as interim Assistant County Administrator.
Terry Brecheisen served as the interim Director of the Health Department during the transition into this recent appointment.
