KANSAS CITY, KAN. ---- Unified Government Mayor/CEO Mark Holland defended a staff member who was criticized by Unified Government Commissioner Ann Murguia last week.
Murguia accused Holland's staff member of speaking negatively of the commission at a meeting last week.
"This morning, I received a number of phone calls from community groups across this county," Murguia said in a letter she read last week. "I was angry, hurt, and flat out frustrated that a representative from our Mayor's office showed up at the livable neighborhood meeting and insinuated that this commission would be tempted by dirty corrupt politics."
You can read Murguia's entire letter here.
Tonight, Holland responded, accusing Murguia of trying to bully that staff member.
Rather than write down everything he said, I decided to video record it with my iPhone.
You may need to turn the volume up, but in political sparing sessions like this, I figure it's best to let both sides speak in their own words.
