MEDITERRANEAN SEA ---- Lt. Michael Osterhaus, from Kansas City, Kansas, observes flight operations aboard USS New York (LPD 21) Jan. 5, 2015. New York, a San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship, deployed as part of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group/24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is conducting naval operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe.
