In a report filed late Friday evening by NBC Action News, the network said four sources - including Unified Government Commissioner Tarence Maddox - indicated that Pledger was the driver behind the wheel.
But Maddox also told KMBC Channel 9 news that he believes Pledger did not do this on purpose.
No charges have been filed yet.
