KANSAS CITY, KAN. ---- In December, the BPU Charity Golf Tournament committee presented a check for $25,000 to PACES: A Place to Be Safe campaign.
This campaign was launched in 2013 to assist the Wyandot Inc. and PACES organizations in building emergency shelters for children who are experiencing a life crisis.
Proceeds were raised in the corporate sponsored 2014 BPU Charity Golf Tournament event.
The tournament was held at Dub's Dread Golf Course in Kansas City, KS, with 180 players and 32 generous corporate sponsors helping contribute to a fun and exciting day for both participants and volunteers.
Since it began in 1992, the committee has raised a total of nearly $460,000 for area children’s charities and nonprofit organizations that benefit children and youth in Wyandotte County.
