GARDNER, KAN. - Shortly after midnight, the Gardner Police Department received multiple calls of an intoxicated driver driving recklessly up and down Interstate 35. Responding officers located the vehicle on the interstate near Gardner Road.
Gardner officers observed continuous erratic behavior that posed a great risk to public safety. Repeated attempts to stop the vehicle were unsuccessful.
The driver of the vehicle crashed in the 35000 block of 199th Street and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is under investigation by the Johnson County Sheriff's Office.
