KANSAS CITY METRO TRAFFIC: I-35, I-435 ramp will not reopen as originally scheduled
KANSAS CITY, KAN. ----- Northbound I-35 to westbound I-435 loop ramp was closed to all traffic for reconstruction work on the ramp, 24/7 round the clock, beginning at 5:00 a.m. on Monday, October 6 and was scheduled to REOPEN to all traffic on Wednesday, November 19, weather permitting.
The ramp will not reopen tomorrow, Wednesday, November 19 as a result of pavement delays due to the recent round of cold winter weather.
New pavement has not been poured on the ramp lane yet, thus the ramp cannot be reopened to traffic until this new pavement work is completed.
The new reopening date for the ramp will be announced as soon as it is determined.
Advance message boards will alert traffic to the ramp closures. A marked detour will be provided. Northbound I-35 traffic will exit at 95th Street back on southbound I-35 to access westbound I-435. Drivers should expect major delays during peak travel times and must use alternate routes during the ramp closure.
Updated daily traffic information for the #jocogateway interchange project can be viewed at: www.jocogateway.com and for the entire Kansas City Metro Area at: www.ksdot.org/kcmetro/laneclose.asp.
The Kansas Department of Transportation urges all motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs, and “Give ‘Em a Brake!” when approaching and driving through the project work zone.
