More than three dozen local prosecutors are publicly backing Derek Schmidt for a second term as attorney general, the campaign announced today.
Schmidt’s campaign released a list of 39 county and district attorneys, all locally elected, who are publicly supporting Schmidt’s reelection as attorney general. The list includes both Republican and Democrat prosecutors.
“We’ve worked hard to improve public safety and strengthen prosecution in Kansas,” Schmidt said. “I’m grateful to have the support of local prosecutors in this reelection campaign, and I look forward to continuing to work closely with our state’s county and district attorneys.”
The county and district attorneys announcing their support for Schmidt’s reelection are:
Gerald Kuckelman, Atchison County Attorney
Gaten Wood, Barber County Attorney
Darrin Devinney, Butler County Attorney
Larry Markle, Chautauqua and Montgomery County Attorney
