BONNER SPRINGS, KAN. ----- The Bonner Springs-Edwardsville School District was honored Friday, as a Kansas School Breakfast Challenge winner.
The award, sponsored by the Kansas Department of Education and the Midwest Dairy Council, recognizes districts that are continually working to increase breakfast participation.
School Breakfast Challenge winners were grouped into three categories; gold, silver, and bronze. Bonner Springs/Edwardsville School District was honored with the Gold Award, having increased breakfasts served per child enrolled by 140 percent in the 2013-2014 school year.
This was the greatest increase among all participating districts.
USD 204 was rewarded with a $4,000 cash prize for its participation.
