BONNER SPRINGS, KAN. ----- The Wyandotte County Historical Society and Museum's Quarterly Meeting will be held June 22.
The meeting, which will be held at 631 N. 126th Street in Bonner Springs, Kan., will begin at 2 p.m.
Don Wolf, well-known Kansas City, Kan., photographer and author, is the speaker for this meeting. A lifelong resident of Wyandotte County, he grew up on Strawberry Hill watching newly arrived immigrants from Croatia struggle to build, educate, become citizens in the search for the American Dream without forgetting those left at home.
His most recent book is entitled, "A Croatian Love Story". It was released last fall. Long before Wolf was born, the outline of this book was formed.
The Croatian people of Strawberry Hill educated their people and moved into local politics, carving out their position of strength in the Kansas City, Kan., community. Spreading throughout the Greater Kansas City area they continue to preserve and cherish their traditions as they embrace the freedoms of the United States. His heritage, culture and his Croatian love story is in this presentation.
Wolf will have copies of his book available for purchase. There will also be light refreshments after the meeting which starts at 2:00 p.m.
