Due to the excessively dry and windy conditions experienced during this Springs Open Burn period, the Unified Government of Kansas City, Kansas along with the Office of the Fire Marshal have extended the Spring 2014 open burn period. The extended period will run May 1, 2014 expiring on May 9, 2014 at 6:00 pm.
Many good citizens in our community held off burning their yard waste due to these weather conditions.
Local burning ordinances and regulations will still apply. Permits are available at any local fire station.
