In the first of three meetings this season, Sporting KC defeated the Impact 4-0 at Sporting Park last month. Calum Mallace opened the scoring with an own goal in the 31st minute before Aurelien Collin and Dom Dwyer (2) added to the lead for the home side.
Sporting KC defeated the Columbus Crew 2-0 last weekend as Jacob Peterson and Claudio Bieler each tallied their first goals of the season. Peterson struck first in the 10th minute of the match, marking the earliest goal scored by Sporting KC in 2014. Bieler doubled the lead in second half stoppage time (95+), the fourth latest goal scored during regulation in team history. Graham Zusi assisted Bieler's goal and is now tied with Davy Arnaud for third on the club's all-time assists chart with 35 during the regular season.
Sporting KC goalkeeper Eric Kronberg is coming off his League leading fourth shutout. Kronberg collected Save of the Week honors for Week Nine with his point blank stop on Bernardo Anor in the 31st minute of Sunday's match. Defender Aurelien Collin was suspended for Sunday's match after receiving a red card against the New England Revolution in Week Eight, but will be available for selection by Manager Peter Vermes on Saturday.
Montreal secured their first victory of the regular season in their last MLS outing, a 1-0 result against the Philadelphia Union. Most recently, the Impact fell 2-1 on the road to FC Edmonton in the first leg of the Amway Canadian Championship semifinal. Striker Jack McInerney scored the only goal for Montreal in Wednesday's loss.
The Impact will be without defender Hassoun Camara on Saturday, who is serving an automatic one-game suspension for yellow card accumulation after receiving his fifth caution of the season against the Union.
Sporting KC is 3-3-1 against the Impact all-time, dropping a 1-0 decision in their last visit to Stade Saputo. Sporting KC hold a 1-1-1 record on the road against Montreal.
