KANSAS CITY, KAN. ----- For the first time in nearly 25 years, the population in Wyandotte County is above 160,000 residents.
U.S. Census results for 2013 were released this week.
According to results, Wyandotte County has a population of 160,384 residents. The number is a two percent growth since the 2010 Census was taken.
This is the eighth year in a row the population has grown in Wyandotte County.
"This continued positive trend in population growth reaffirms that Kansas City, Kansas and Wyandotte County is a great place to live and raise a family, said Unified Government Mayor/CEO Mark Holland. "It's also evidence the economic growth that's brought job opportunities is breathing new life into our community like never before."
