Central United Methodist Church is hosting its one day only Prom Boutique: Blessed Dress on Saturday, April 5 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. to provide 1,500 free prom dresses to high school girls without the financial resources to purchase prom attire.
The event will take place in the heart of Kansas City at Central United Methodist Church at 5144 Oak Street in Kansas City, MO 64112. The Church is located near several city bus stops and is near Brookside Boulevard and UMKC.
Girls attending the boutique can choose from 1,500 beautiful new or almost-new dresses, from sizes 0 to 32. Private dressing rooms will be available on site to ensure that each dress fits just right.
“It’s our hope that every girl who needs a dress for prom will come and shop with us on Saturday,” said Dr. Jim Simpson, Lead Pastor of Central UMC. “Our volunteers have worked to collect gowns in every shape, size and color for the event, and our goal is to give all of them away in one day.”
Prom Boutique: Blessed Dress is a ministry of Central UMC in partnership with Prom Boutique of Woods Chapel United Methodist Church in Lee’s Summit that seeks to bless high school girls in our area and in the process demonstrate God's love and care for all aspects of their lives.
Dress, undergarment and accessory donations will be accepted at the event or anytime throughout the year on Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church at 5144 Oak Street in Kansas City, Mo.
