KANSAS CITY, KAN. ----- Doug Bach, Wyandotte County Deputy County Administrator, has been hired as the new County Administrator for Wyandotte County.
Bach will replace Dennis Hays, who retired after working for 38 years with the City of Kansas City, Kan., and Unified Government.
UG Mayor/CEO Mark Holland said the Bach was the "clear choice" after conducting a nationwide search.
“I said from the beginning this needed to be a nationwide search," Holland said. "I don’t believe we hire someone just based on whose turn it is, but based on the quality of their candidacy. Looking at the resumes we saw nationally and the interviews - Doug is our clear choice today.”
Bach has worked at the local government level in Wyandotte County since 1991.
He began as a budget analyst. In 2003, he was appointed as Deputy County Administrator.
“I’m honored and excited to be chosen the next county administrator of the Unified Government and I look forward to the challenges and opportunities in front of us,” Bach said.
Bach will be only the second county administrator since the Unified Government was established in 1997.
