KANSAS CITY, KAN. -- 7th Street Casino is holding its 5th annual “Stride for Life 5k” Saturday, April 12 at Pierson Park in support of Due West Therapeutic Riding Center.
Each year 7th Street Casino hosts a 5K run/walk in support of a local charity. This year's event will be held at Pierson Park, 1800 S. 55th Street, in Kansas City, Kan.
In the past four years, 7th Street Casino has raised funds for women’s heart health, KU Oncology, and the Kansas Special Olympics.
Due West Therapeutic Riding Center (DWTRC) provides therapeutic riding services to children and adults with disabilities and other therapeutic needs.
The program is designed to serve children and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities; including autism spectrum disorder, Down Syndrome, developmental delay, emotional disorders and vision and hearing impairments.
Due West TRC serves individuals in Wyandotte, Leavenworth, Johnson and Douglas counties.
The event starts at 8 a.m., with participant and sponsor registration beginning at 7 a.m. Registration is at Shelter 1 next to the parking lot. Additional parking will also be provided in the Turner Elementary School parking lot.
Professional timers will be provided through Race Day Timing Solutions. By registering for this event, participants will receive a 7th Street Stride for Life T-shirt, a 7th Street Casino logoed cup and refreshments. Category winners will also receive medals and other special awards.
