“Working with Providence, we will provide quality prenatal care to women in Wyandotte and Leavenworth Counties and the surrounding areas, which reduces infant morbidity and mortality,” Dr. Lang says. “This is an opportunity to care for patients conveniently close to home and to make a real impact on their lives and the lives of their children.”
Providence has a long history of caring for Wyandotte County’s newest residents. The hospital’s Family Care Center staff is experienced and concerned with every aspect of helping new families get off to the best starts possible in life. The Providence Family Care Center provides personal medical care in an atmosphere that is comfortable and compassionate. It features Labor-Delivery-Recovery Rooms (LDRs); high-tech fetal monitoring to track uterine contractions and fetal heart rate during labor and delivery; an outstanding medical team; comprehensive education and support; and security to ensure a safe environment for patients and their families.
Dr. Lang also sees Providence as positioned for growth. “With the hospital’s location so near the Legends, Sporting KC and the Kansas Speedway, and its new ownership under Prime Healthcare, there is tremendous opportunity to develop the hospital’s obstetrics and gynecology services,” Dr. Lang says. “The potential is very exciting.”
Dr. Lang has practiced obstetrics and gynecology in the Kansas City area for a decade, most recently in Overland Park, Kan. In addition to delivering babies and providing prenatal care, he consults with several area midwifery programs. For gynecology patients, he offers minimally invasive laparoscopic surgeries and age management medicine, including bioidentical hormone replacement therapy to help manage the symptoms related to menopause.
He earned his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, Kansas City, Mo., and performed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Northeast Regional Medical Center, Kirksville, Mo. He received a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kan., and served nine years in the United States Air Force.
Dr. Lang is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American Congress of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery.
Dr. Lang is a long-time area resident. He and his wife reside in Olathe, Kan. They have an 11-year-old daughter and he is involved in her school and 4-H activities.
He is also an active member of the New Hope Presbyterian Church, Olathe, Kan.
