KANSAS CITY, KAN. ----- Kansas City Kansas Community College will be offering a Principles of Real Estate class beginning next month.
Principles of Real Estate is the first of two 30-hour courses that must be completed in order to take the Kansas Real Estate Exam and obtain a salesperson license.
This course covers all aspects of real estate transactions including ownership issues, valuation and appraisal, financing, real estate law, settlement and closing, contracts and agency, duties of the KREC and licensing requirements, among others.
Following this course, a second 30-hour course (Kansas Real Estate Practice) must be completed and those in the program are required to pass the state exam to receive a salesperson license.
The Principles of Real Estate course is from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 10 to March 13. The class meets on Monday and Thursday. Tuition is $250, and the instructor is Ed Jaskinia. The class will be held on the KCKCC main campus, 7250 State Ave.
