KANSAS CITY, KAN. ----- A person has been shot near City Hall in Kansas City, Kan.
The incident happened on 6th and Orville Avenue shortly after 3:15 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.
One person was shot and police say the victim's injuries are life-threatening.

UPDATE 4:26 p.m.: City Hall is not on lock-down as a result of the shooting. However, police have blocked off intersections in the area, so it's probably a good idea to stay away from there if at all possible.
Police are searching for the suspect there.
As of right now, the Kansas City, Kan., Public Library's downtown branch is open.

UPDATE: 4:31 p.m.: NBC Action News is reporting the gunshot victim has died. No information is available yet on the victim or potential suspects.
