The fire was reported just after 1 a.m. on Friday morning. It caused about $50,000 worth of damage, but no one was injured.
"Crews on the scene within three minutes reported a fully involved vacant single family structure," said Craig Duke, PIO Deputy Chief of the Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department. "Because of fire conditions and the condition of the structure, this fire was fought in a defensive mode only. Crews had the fire under control within 45 minutes."
The fire remains under investigation by the KCKFD.
