KANSAS CITY, KAN. ---- After last year produced three historic winter storms for Kansas City, it appears the first significant snow-storm is on the way for the 2013-2014 winter.
A Winter Storm watch has been issued for the entire Kansas City metro area.
According to the National Weather Service, between 4-8 inches of snow is expected to fall during the weekend in Kansas City.

A potent winter storm is still on track to impact most of the area on Saturday and Saturday night, affecting holiday and weekend travel. Currently we are still expecting large accumulations of ice and snow for almost the entire eastern Kansas and western/northern/central Missouri region.
The best chance for freezing rain will be between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. through most of the area, before it switches over to snow around 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Heaviest snow will likely be between 9 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday. Widespread 4 to 6 inch amounts are expected, with some localized areas of 6 to 8 inches of snow. Expect the snow to come to an end by noon on Sunday.
