“It’s the ideal trip for anyone who has never been to Europe or who has never seen the magnificent Swiss Alps or experienced the history and culture of some of the most awesome countries in the world,” said Alan Hoskins, group organizer. Extremely popular with a low-to-medium amount of walking, the trip combines scenic views from a private deluxe motor coach with short walking tours.
The 14-day trip will begin in the Heidelberg region of Germany where the tour will journey to the thundering Rhine Falls and Black Forest en route to Lucerne, one of Switzerland’s most quaint and delightful towns. While in Lucerne, travelers will have the opportunity to take the world’s steepest cable car to the top of Mount Pilatus for gorgeous views of the Alps.
Then it’s on to Austria with a stop in one of the world’s smallest principalities, Liechtenstein, on the way to Innsbruck, site of two Winter Olympics. No visit to Germany would be complete without a visit to Neuschwanstein, the fairytale “Disney Castle’ built by the “Mad” King Ludwig.
There will be two days each in two of Europe’s most fabled cities, Munich and the home of Mozart, Salzburg, with opportunities to visit two World War II memorials, Dachau and Adolf Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest. The trip will conclude with three days in Vienna, long considered one of the cultural centers of the world.
The cost of the trip is $4,219 (double occupancy) and includes round trip air fare from Kansas City; accommodations in quality, well-located hotels; daily buffet breakfast and six 3-course dinners, professional guides, baggage handling and other amenities. “This trip is very popular and will fill up rather quickly. Go Ahead Tours has already filled an identical tour for June 18 so it is recommended that anyone who may have interest should contact me as soon as possible,” said Hoskins.
