KANSAS CITY, KAN. ----- Before rush hour tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday, November 27, all lanes of eastbound and Westbound Interstate 70 under the 72nd Street Bridge and the 72nd Street bridge over eastbound and westbound I-70 will reopen to unrestricted traffic in Wyandotte County.
Repair work on the bridge that was incurred by a dump truck striking the bridge deck (on October 3rd) has been completed and both Interstate 70 and 72nd Street will be opened to unrestricted traffic tomorrow afternoon.
An overhead sign was also damaged (see photo below) during the incident and still needs to be re-installed on the bridge, so there will be another scheduled one-day lane closure on Eastbound I-70 at some point in the next few weeks as weather permits.
