Sporting Kansas City (10-7-6) hosts the New England Revolution (8-8-6) at Sporting Park on Saturday in the team's third match in a one-week span.
The match will kick off at 7:30 p.m. CT and be broadcast live on KSMO-TV with coverage beginning at 7 p.m. CT. Fans can listen to the match live on Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Gran D 1340 AM.
Sporting KC recently secured a midweek victory against Real Esteli FC in the 2013-14 CONCACAF Champions League courtesy of goals from Ike Opara and Dom Dwyer.
Midfielder Benny Feilhaber, who spent the past two seasons with the New England Revolution, provided the game-winning assist with his free kick to set up Opara's goal.
Following Saturday's match, Sporting Kansas City will hit the road for their next three games with stops in San Jose, Chicago and Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
Saturday's match features two of the League's best defensive units. New England leads the League with a 0.91 goals against average this season, conceding just 21 goals in 22 games this season.
Sporting KC has allowed 24 goals this season in 23 games played, third fewest amongst Eastern Conference clubs, and has conceded the fewest shots against (198) in MLS this year.
With 11 regular season games remaining, Sporting KC maintains the best goal difference in the East at +9. The New England Revolution boasts a +7 goal difference, tied for second in the East with the New York Red Bulls.
The Revolution (4-4-3) have the second best road record in MLS behind only Sporting Kansas City (5-3-3) and have won their last two matches away from home with wins against D.C. United and the Columbus Crew. New England Revolution most recently fell 1-0 to Toronto FC at Gillette Stadium last weekend.
Sporting KC and the New England Revolution have met on one previous occasion during the 2013 MLS regular season, resulting in a scoreless draw at Gillette Stadium. Sporting Kansas City is unbeaten in their last five matches against New England, including four clean sheets against the Revolution, dating back to 2011 and Sporting KC has outscored the Revolution 5-1 over that span.
Sporting KC will be without Paulo Nagamura (left ankle sprain) and Josh Gardner (left hamstring strain) on Saturday, while midfielder Graham Zusi has missed the team's last two matches in all competition due to a right quad strain.
On Friday, New England signed former U.S. international Charlie Davies and announced that Juan Agudelo will move to Stoke City FC of the English Premier League. Davies will join the Revolution next week, while Agudelo is expected to miss Saturday's match while recovering from a right knee sprain.
Sporting Kansas City ranks second in MLS for overall attendance, behind only the Seattle Sounders FC, in 2013 and Sporting Park has sold out 28 straight MLS matches.
