KANSAS CITY, KAN. --- The man accused of kidnapping a 15-year-old girl was found dead in a jail cell late Tuesday night.Elijah McPike, 23, was accused of kidnapping 15-year-old Bailey Ann Summers. McPike and Summers were found in Kansas City, Kan., on the evening of Aug. 9.
McPike was arrested in KCK and had been in jail since then.
McPike was last seen alive in his jail cell at around 7:33 p.m. When police checked on him at 8:24 p.m., he was found dead with a sheet wrapped around his neck.
He was pronounced dead at 8:44 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Summers was unharmed in the kidnapping.
