KANSAS CITY, Kan.— The University of Kansas Hospital pediatrics unit in Kansas City, Kan., turned into a magical place for a couple of hours this week as Miss Kansas Teen USA Alyssa Klinzing of Olathe helped pediatric patients make cardboard crowns with plenty of jewels.
Klinzing got a little help from Violet the Wolf, the newest mascot, from the Great Wolf Lodge.
The pediatric patients were in awe of both Violet and Miss Klinzing who wore her crown and sash. Klinzing is starting her own charity because of a personal story.
