KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Two area students have accepted scholarships from Fort Hays State University for the 2013-2014 academic year.
Vilma Maldonado, Kansas City, Kan. (66102), a 2013 Bishop Ward High School graduate, accepted a $4,000 Access to Academic Opportunity Grant. Maldonado is the daughter of Ada Vilma Palacios, Kansas City, Kan., and Tomas Maldonado.
Armon Selectman, Kansas City, Kan. (66112), a 2013 Bishop Ward High School graduate, accepted a $500 Copper Academic Award.
Selectman is the son of Delbert Selectman and Michele Baldain, Kansas City, Kan. He plans to major in biology.
