AMARILLO, Texas – The Kansas City T-Bones didn’t get the outs down the stretch and, as a result, blew a late five-run lead and saw their four-game winning streak come to an end with an 11-9 loss to Amarillo.
After Kansas City took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first on a home run by Kyle Nichols that scored Kennard Jones, Amarillo went through their lineup in a four-run inning during which Kansas City committed two errors and starter Connor Graham gave up a three-run home run to Joe Weik.
Jairo Perez connected on a three-run homer in the third inning before the T-Bones tacked on four more runs and take a 9-4 lead after the fifth inning.
Graham left the game after giving up eight runs and getting just one out in the seventh. Josh Hildebrand took the loss, allowing two runs in the seventh inning.
Alex Tieroff allowed one in the eighth, and Kansas City couldn’t recover from the 11-9 deficit.

Kansas City (23-37) and Amarillo (32-24) are scheduled to continue their four-game series on Saturday night with a 7:05 start.
