KANSAS CITY, KAN. --- An employee for the Board of Public Utilities believed the phone call made to them in connection to the electrocution death of Nick Moeder was a prank phone call, according to a story from KCTV 5.
In audio tapes released by BPU, one worker believed the initial report about the incident was a prank call in order "to get us out there quickly."
Moeder, 27, was killed in Rosedale Park after his feet made contact with a live power-line that was knocked down during a thunderstorm on June 15.
BPU, who took criticism in the response to the tragedy, released its investigation report earlier this week.
