KANSAS CITY, KAN. ---- Unified Government Mayor/CEO Mark Holland has named his new permanent office staff.
Maureen Mahoney has been hired as Holland's Chief of Staff; Jason Banks has been named Director of Business Access; Lindsay Behgam as the Director of Community Relations; Maria Rangel as a Professional Assistant and Office Manager and Bill Hurrelbrink as his Director of Communications.“I’m excited about the ideas, passion for community, and experience that these individuals bring to the office.” Holland said. “Our team will be efficient, thorough, and responsible. I am confident we will work well together to continue and build upon the progress that Wyandotte County, Kansas City, KS has seen.”

Maureen Mahoney - Chief of Staff
Maureen is a lifelong Kansas City, KS resident. She is an attorney whose practice has focused on child welfare. She has worked as a Guardian ad Litem in Wyandotte County, a prosecutor in Kansas City, KS, and was general counsel for KVC Behavioral Healthcare, a nonprofit organization that provides services to children and families in multiple states. Maureen is a graduate of Bishop Ward High School. She has a B.A. from the University of Arkansas, a M.A. from Notre Dame University, and a Law Degree from the University of Kansas.
Jason Banks - Director of Business Access
Jason has been with the Unified Government since 2005. Beginning in Purchasing, Jason led implementation of the Unified Government's first small business programming efforts. Over time, these efforts led to the creation of an independent department focused on contract compliance and construction labor relations. Jason is a graduate of Sumner Academy of Arts and Science and the University of Kansas.
Lindsay Behgam - Director of Community Relations
Lindsay is a native Kansan and graduate of the University of Kansas. She has worked in politics, government and community relations for the last 9 years, including managing U.S. Congressman Dennis Moore's 2008 campaign.
Maria Rangel - Professional Assistant/Office Manager
Maria is a lifelong Kansas City, KS resident, graduating from Wyandotte High School and attending Kansas City Kansas Community College. She worked for the Adult Court Services of the State of Kansas for 2 years until she was hired by the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s office where she remained for 25 years.
Bill Hurrelbrink - Director of Communications
Bill is a new hire to the Unified Government. He comes from a TV/Radio background with 10+ years of media and public relations experience. He is a graduate of Sumner Academy of Arts and Science and Kansas State University.
