Two student orientations will be held for new students planning to attend Kansas City Kansas Community College (Kansas City, Kan.,) this fall.
Designed for both students and parents, KCKCC Orientation 101 will be offered on Tuesday, June 25, from 9-11:30 a.m., and Thursday, June 27, from 1:30-4 p.m.
One of the top five keys to student success, the orientations will provide a guideline to what both students and parents need to know before classes begin in August. After an opening session, parents and students will move into sessions designed specifically for them.
Students will learn about Web Advisor, Student E-Mail and MyDotte; Academic Advising; Student Activities; and hear from current students while parents will learn about Student Privacy (FERPA), how their role will change with a college student and how other parents have made the transition from high school to college.
The orientation will conclude with a question and answer session with representatives of various departments in the College including Financial Aid, the Business Office, Academic Resource Center and others. Refreshments will be served.
