The Unified Government Board of Commissioners will hold an At-Large District 1 selection process to fill the vacant commission seat on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the Commission Chambers located in City Hall; 701 North 7th St., Kansas City, Kan.
The selection process is open to the public, but there will be no comments allowed. Only the Mayor, Commissioners, Moderator and applicants will participate in the process. Spectators will not be allowed to enter the Chamber once interview process begins with the candidate.
Following the first round of presentations and interviews, the Commission will conduct a second round of interviews of the two finalists, which will consist of a presentation by each applicant up to 10 minutes, followed by a question and answer session. The process will include two 15-minute breaks at 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.
The Commission will select a candidate from the final two at the conclusion of the Planning and Zoning meeting, which begins at 7:00 p.m. that evening.
The vacancy selection process will be broadcast live on UGTV channel 2 on Time Warner Cable beginning at 1 p.m.
