Reardon made the declaration shortly after 1:30 p.m. today."We are asking everyone that can to stay home. If you must be out, use caution," Reardon said. "Our crews are doing all they can to clear streets but due to the amount of snow it is going to take some time."
Reardon - and the county government - are requesting citizens to not travel if it's possible.
Less traveling makes it easier for emergency crews to perform operations.
The UG closed all of its offices today at 1 p.m.
