The Kansas City, Kan., Public Schools will be opening its doors to a group of Brazilian high school teachers this week.
The group of 39 will be touring two KCKPS high schools as part of a program being coordinated through the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Leading the group is Dr. Monica Mingucci, director of the Applied English Institute at UMKC.
The teachers are working to increase their English skills and TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) methodology. The visit also will expose them to the U.S. culture and society.
The visits will take place on Tuesday, February 5 at the following buildings and times:
- Wyandotte High School, 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
- Sumner Academy of Arts and Science, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
