The Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department is investigating a suspicious fire that happened early this morning in Kansas City, Kan.
Firefighters responded to the scene of the fire, located at 838 Ann Ave., at around 5:15 a.m. Friday morning. Three adults and two children were required to evacuate the home.
According to Craig Duke, battalion chief of the KCK Fire Department, the fire was located on the back porch of the home. He also said the department is investigating the fire as "suspicious."
"The fire had extended through exterior walls and up into the attic," Duke said. "Crews had the fire under control within 20 minutes."
No one was hurt in the fire, which caused about $20,000 worth of damage to the home.
The American Red Cross is providing assistance to them.
