State to appeal school finance ruling

Following Friday's court ruling in Shawnee County regarding the level of school finance being "unconstitutional," the State of Kansas announced that it will appeal the decision to the Kansas Supreme Court.

Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt today filed notice that the State will appeal Friday's ruling on school finance to the Kansas Supreme Court and released the following statement:

“Today’s ruling has enormous consequences for the State of Kansas. We have filed notice that we will appeal the decision to the Kansas Supreme Court.”
