On Friday, Jan. 4, at about 8:15 a.m., officers of the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department responded to the 300 Block of N. 14th Street on a suspicious party call.
While in route, officers continued to receive information to include, the sound of breaking glass, attempted burglary, suspect description and direction of travel.
As officers arrived in the area, the suspect was observed going into a residence in the 1400 block of Orville Avenue, where he barricaded himself. Officers set up a perimeter around the residence and began the procedure for a barricaded subject. After continued attempts to communicate with the suspect; he voluntarily surrendered to the officers. The situation ended, without incident, at about 4 p.m.
The identity of the suspect will not be released pending formal charges.
