The crime rate continues to drop in Kansas City, Kan.

The Kansas City, Kan., Police Department released its "end of year" statistics Friday afternoon.

According to the department, the overall crime rate in KCK dropped by 6.5 percent in 2012 compared to a year ago. Along with the drop in overall crime, there was a larger drop in the violent crime and homicide rates.
