Neighborhood Group Christmas Tree Contest winners announced

Liveable Neighborhoods has announced the winners of the neighborhood group tree decorating contest held in conjunction with the Mayor’s Downtown Holiday Lighting Event.
The Crestview Neighborhood Group captured Grand Champion with its tree decorated with snowmen and festive Christmas characters. Strawberry Hill Neighborhood Group won first place displaying the ethnic heritage and churches located on Strawberry Hill.
The Block Hawks and Neighbors Who Care joined together to decorate their tree which was dedicated to the Police and Unified Government partners to earn second Place and Quindaro Homes Home Owners Assoc., whose tree showcased homemade traditional tree decorations garnered third place.
Mary Jane Johnson, Director of Liveable Neighborhoods, said “The neighborhood groups that participate really love the tree decorating contest. We receive many compliments from the public on how innovative and interesting it is to see all the creative ways the groups think of to decorate to win the top prize. “
The judges for this year’s contest were Melissa Bynum, Kate Fields and Donna Criss.
