The Salvation Army in Wyandotte County is now accepting applications for Christmas assistance.
Families and seniors aged 65 and older are eligible to apply.
Please apply in person at The Salvation Army Harbor Light Village, 6723 State Avenue, Kansas City, Kan.
Applications will be taken the following days and times, until further notice: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Wednesdays from Noon-8 p.m.
Applicants are asked to please bring a picture ID and one of the following: social security cards for all members of the family, a tax ID card or an SRS printout.
Please also bring a document showing proof of residency, such as a current utility or mortgage bill.
Proof of income is also required. Acceptable documents include a current pay stub, SRS printout or a 2010 tax return for those who are self-employed.
Families and seniors who qualify for Christmas assistance receive food for holiday meals, toys for children in the family and more.
