This Friday night the University of Kansas will celebrate the upcoming 2012-13 basketball season and the start of fall practice, and Time Warner Cable (TWC) Metro Sports will broadcast the festivities live from historic Allen Fieldhouse.
“Late Night in the Phog” will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will run until approximately 9:30 p.m., with KU television host Nate Bukaty and former Jayhawk guard Greg Gurley anchoring the TV coverage on-site and Metro Sports’ Dave Stewart and former Kansas guard Conner Teahan contributing from the station’s studios.
This will be the sixth straight year that Metro Sports will broadcast “Late Night.”
“College basketball season is right around the corner, and we’re excited to be broadcasting ‘Late Night in the Phog’ again this year,” said Chris Huwe, Metro Sports general manager. “Kansas basketball has a huge following here in the Kansas City area, and we know that the Jayhawks fans are really going to enjoy our coverage Friday night.”
As usual, this year’s “Late Night” event will feature music by the KU pep band, skits by both the men’s and women’s basketball teams, video highlights, coach and player introductions, scrimmages by the KU men’s and women’s teams and more.
