KCKFD not issuing burn permits

As a result of today's windy day and dry conditions, the Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department has decided to not issue any open burning permits.

Statement from KCK Fire Department Battalion Chief Craig Duke:

Due to the strong winds and the continuing dry conditions, the Kansas City Kansas Fire Department is placing a ban on any open burning until further notice. No new burn permits will be issued at this time.
