KCK board of education to meet November 1

News Release:

A special meeting of the Kansas City, Kansas Board of Education is hereby called for Thursday,  November 1, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., in the third floor board room of the  Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools Central Office and Training Center, 2010 N. 59th Street, Kansas City, Kansas.

In addition to regular business itemized in the published agenda, the purpose of such special meeting shall be to deepen the understanding of what is meant by college and career readiness and the relationship to current district achievement results (Measure of Academic Progress, EXPLORE, PLAN, and ACT) and critical features of the district’s current instructional reform “Inspiring Excellence.”  In addition, the Board will continue discussion of the Board’s Strategic Framework establishing clear direction for the district’s work.
