The Board of Public Utilities will sponsor a free energy efficiency workshop for the community and customers on Tuesday, October 30, 2012.
The event, which promotes energy efficiency techniques and offers tips on how to reduce energy costs, will feature speakers, displays and exhibits, and several hands-on demonstrations by BPU staff and industry experts.
The workshop will be held from 4-7 p.m. at the West Wyandotte Public Library, 1737 N. 82nd Street.
The event is family-friendly, with Halloween refreshments and treats being served. Topics and issues will include:
- "Energy Efficiency - Staying Comfortable and Saving Money During the Winter Months"
- "BPU's 2 Degrees 2 Save Free Programmable Thermostat Program"
- "Low-Cost Energy Efficiency Products Overview"
- Walt Dow, General Manager, Westlake Hardware, KCK
- Home Energy Auditors available for question, demonstrations, and to arrange home energy audits per customer request
