VOLUNTEERISM: Youth Entrepreneurs needs YOU!

Youth Entrepreneurs, a non-profit organization, provides students with business and entrepreneurial education and experiences that help them prosper and become contributing members of society.

With the help of community volunteers, Youth Entrepreneurs teaches business and entrepreneurial skills in 31 high schools across Kansas and Missouri.

Business plan advisors (BPA) attend classroom sessions and mentor high school students as they develop an understanding of market-based management principles and their application to the formation of a business.

As business professionals, we invite you to help shape our future business and economic leaders by becoming a (BPA) for Youth Entrepreneurs.

BPA roles and expectations include:
  • Time commitment – one 45-minute orientation (see options listed below); four to five 60-to-90 minute classroom visits arranged by Youth Entrepreneurs teachers and staff.
  • Role – assist a group of three to five high school students in preparing individual business plans for presentation at year-end competitions; answer questions, strategize and connect students to resources and opportunities
  • Complete a brief application and background screening form. All personal information provided will be kept strictly confidential and secure. Only background information pertaining to involvement with minors will be reviewed. No financial information will be requested.
