For the first time really this summer, severe weather is poised to hit Wyandotte County.

The county is under a severe thunderstorm watch. Meanwhile, our friends in Leavenworth County have a severe thunderstorm warning, meaning some nasty weather could soon hit Kansas City, Kan.
From the National Weather Service:
Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 10pm. Some storms could be severe, with large hail and damaging winds. Partly cloudy, with a low around 69. South southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
