Meet-up scheduled for Melrose Fiberhood

By NICK SLOAN, NJSloan212@gmail.com

The Melrose Fiberhood in Kansas City, Kan., has not reached its Google Fiber registration goal yet - and there's still quite a way to go.

Some in the community want that to change.

Residents who live in the Turner area of KCK, are invited to help get the word out about Google Fiber.

A gathering will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, August 30 at Pierson Park, located at 1800 S. 55th Street. A door-to-door campaign will be held that night.

Organizers for the event are seeking many volunteers in an effort to reach every home in the area.

In terms of schools, the Melrose Fiberhood is pretty important.

Inside Melrose contains Turner High School, Turner Elementary School and Oak Grove Elementary School.
