Firefighters responded to the scene of the fire Tuesday afternoon just after 3 p.m. No one was injured in the fire.
According to KCK Fire Department Battalion Chief Craig Duke, the fire resulted in roughly $40,000 worth of damage.

Crews on the scene within 2 minutes reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of a one story residential structure. Primary and secondary searches determined the structure to be vacant. Fire was under control within 20 minutes. BPU called to shut off utilities to structure. Fire Investigator resounded to scene. Fire is under investigation. Estimated damage to structure $40,000. No injuries were reported.
