Kansas City, Kan., firefighters are investigating a fire from early Tuesday morning that resulted in the "total loss" of a home.
The Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department responded to 6204 Roswell Avenue on a fire call shortly after 4 a.m. Tuesday morning.
The fire was located on the roof of the home and part of it had already collapsed before firefighters arrived on the scene, according to KCK Fire Department Battalion Chief Craig Duke.
"Due to the collapse of the roof, the incident commander ordered the fire to be fought defensively," Duke said. "Crews searched the home multiple times for victims; no victims were found."
Overall, about $65,000 worth of damage to the property was reported.
It remains under investigation.
